One of the easiest ways to link from your website to your tours is to place a link on your site to your inventory list of tours. In that way, each time you add or remove a tour, there is no need to update your website since the inventory list remains updated automatically.

This memo will show you how to sort that inventory list by price, date, status of the sale, or property type.

To see specific inventory list links you can copy and paste, log into your VisualTour.com account, and after clicking "My Tours," click the LINK button next to any tour, but a normal link to your inventory would point to:
http://www.visualtour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296
(although the 2296 at the end would be replaced with your own account number).

This link would bring up a list of all your tours sorted by date in descending order (newest tours first). You may add one or more of the following parameters to the link (or any link you copy/paste) to sort the list as you wish.

Sorting Parameters
a = ascending, d = descending u = your user id

s= [a|d] 1=Price, 2=Date (Default), 3=Status, 4=PropertyType
s2= [a|d] 1=Price, 2=Date (Default), 3=Status, 4=PropertyType
s3= [a|d] 1=Price, 2=Date (Default), 3=Status, 4=PropertyType

Placing an "a" or "d" after each number determines whether the list will sort in ascending or descending order for that parameter. If no letter is specified, the sorting will be in descending order.

Examples:

http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=1d will sort by price descending.
http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=2d will sort by date descending.
http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=3d will sort by status descending.
http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=4d will sort by property type descending.
http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=1d&s2=4a will sort by price descending THEN by property type ascending.
http://VisualTour.com/inventory.asp?u=2296&s=2a&s2=3d&s3=1d will sort by date ascending THEN by status descending THEN price descending.

Bonus Information:
In addition to sorting the inventory list, you can also filter it in numerous ways. By filtering it, you can specify the list to display only properties in certain price ranges, of a minimum size, of only certain property types (so you could have separate lists for single family homes vs. condos), and many other criteria. Click Here to view the complete list of ways to filter your tour inventory list.

Be sure to also read our Customizing the Inventory List memo for information on altering the color scheme of the inventory list as well as adding background and header graphics.
