Red face Removing email address

Hi:

I was just sent an email by a client of mine which stated that the virtual tours that I was linking to on their mls had to have the contact info removed because of their rules and regulations. I contacted the mls company and was told that they are actually working with visualtour to have the tours automatically link. I guess this will exclude any agent info when it is finally in place. But for now I need to remove the contact info, agent photo and email address from the tour. I have done the first two but don't know where I can take out the email address. If I try to take it out of the profile, it won't allow me to save. It requires an email address. So how do I get around this. I thought I had seen somewhere to check if you don't want the agent email address to show but for the life of me I can't find it. Is there a place I can do this or did I just dream this up?

Thanks!

From the VT login control panel at In "my account"

go to "My Profile"

It's in there.

I think this is so silly. What's next? Do they want listing agents to remove the yard sign too?

At this rate I'm gonna start watermarking all my photos with the company logo and website address.

or Make the first "front" photo to show the big company yard sign, heh.

Thanks for the response. Actually I tried to remove from the profile but it won't let me. I did come across the "disable email feature" which is located in the viewer layout section.

I like your suggestions! I can't believe they would have that type of rules and regulations since the mls is not open for the public to use! The only time the public can view the properties is when the agent emails them. Consumers aren't stupid! They are aware that the properties their agents are emailing to them are not going to be just the agents listings! DAH

How different is it to have your contact info listed in a newspaper ad????? I am just amazed at such ridiculous regulations!

Thanks again
Jerrie

Actually removing the agent and / or broker's branding information is a very common requirement when the MLS allows you to link your tours to listings that can be displayed from other's sites. See http://www.visualtour.com/features_chameleon.asp for a description of the special features we've built into VisualTour specifically to meet this need.

To show your virtual tour without the branding information, simply enter &sk13 at the end of the tour url. For example, if standard link to show your tour with your branding was:

http://www.VisualTour.com/show.asp?t=3649

then to show your tour without branding you'd enter:

http://www.VisualTour.com/show.asp?t=3649&sk=13

That's all there is to it!

You're welcome. This method also guarantees that you won't "offend" anyone since ALL of your personal branding is removed. This is exactly how we submit your tours to Yahoo! as they have similar requirements.

Best regards,

Default Removing Contact Information

One final comment on this, if I may.......

This has to do with Article 16 of the REALTORŪ Code of Ethics. Just as it is improper for agents to do an end run around the listing agent, it is improper for listing agents to solicit the clients of a Buyer's Agent simply because an individual viewed a MLS sheet which had been forwarded by E-mail. Actually, when working a lead call, the proper thing is for the listing agent to ask if the prospect already has a working relationship with another agent. This extends beyond MLS and virtual tours. I have seen listing agents include within the in-house literature a page urging that they become "your Buyers Agent". VisualTours.com takes the "high road" and complies with the rules of REALTORŪ boards.

Best regards,
-Paul-
