Default How to Export Photos From the VisualTour Software

Version 5 and 6 of the VisualTour Studio software stores its images as standard JPG files on the computer's hard drive, so there is no need to export the images as there was in version 4 or below. The steps for versions 1.0 to 3.6 of PhotoShare and 4.0 to 4.1 of VisualTour are shown below, but first, let's look at how to get your photos in version 5/6 in case you need them for use in a brochure or other area.

If your tour is called 1313 Mockingbird Way, for example, you can get those photos by opening (My) Computer. Go to (My) Documents then open My VisualTours. Open Residential (unless you store tours in a different tour group - look at the top of the tour screen while your tour is open in VisualTour Studio if you are unsure), and you will see a folder for each tour, so open 1313 Mockingbird Way. All the photos are there. You might see each photo name more than once.

Choose the JPG file. Just copy/paste it to wherever you need it.

Still using VisualTour 4?
You really might want to call VisualTour and see if you are eligible for a free upgrade, but if you are still using an earlier release of the VisualTour software, here are the steps you will need.

If you need to take a photo from a tour and place it on a floppy disk or on your hard drive, you can export it using the following steps.

  1. Open the tour you want to export the photos from in the Photoshare/VisualTour software.

  2. Double click on the thumbnail you want to export or single click its caption on the left.

  3. Click on the hammer/wrench button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

  4. In the new window, click on the button with the picture of the floppy disk.

  5. Type in a name for the photo, and select the folder where you want the photo saved.

  6. Click OK.

To export a series of photos all at once, follow these alternate instructions.

  1. Open the tour you want to export the photos from in the Photoshare/VisualTour software.

  2. If you do not see a list of the photos on the left, click the plus sign next to the name of the tour, and the list will appear.

  3. Click the Storyboard option (same as the Thumbnails option if using PhotoShare software) on the left.

  4. Now press the CTRL key on the keyboard and single click all of the images you wish to export.

  5. Release the CTRL key, and RIGHT click and selected image.

  6. From the popup menu, choose "Export to Another Application."

  7. Type in a name for the photos, and select the folder where you want the photos saved.  Note that the name you choose must end in a number, for example Smith01.  In that way, the software will not have to ask you to name each photo.   Instead, it will just increment the numbers, and you will end up with photos called Smith01.jpg, Smith02.jpg, Smith03.jpg, and so on.

  8. Click OK.
