How To: Create a VisualTour inventory hyperlink for your signature in Windows Live Hotmail.

Adding an inventory button to your email signature in Hotmail is very easy. You only have to add it once and then every email you send will include a button that will allow people to see your current list of tours (although you can easily delete it from an email if you do not want it in that particular message). The button displays an updated list even if the person goes back and clicks the button in an email message that is months or even years old.

First, you get the button from the Link Builder component of your online account, then you copy/paste it into your Hotmail signature. Here are the steps to follow.

To get the button:
  1. Log into your account at

  2. From the My Account screen, click My Tours.

  3. Next to any tour, click the LINKS button.

  4. When asked what type of link you want, choose MY INVENTORY and click NEXT.

  5. When asked where you want to place the link, choose AS AN EMAIL SIGNATURE.

  6. After clicking NEXT, you might be asked about a filter. Default is often a good choice, but if you see something you prefer, feel free to choose it, then click NEXT.

  7. Now, choose one of the three graphical buttons, and click NEXT.

  8. Okay, here comes the part that will probably vary from what you might expect. Do NOT click the COPY button. That will copy the very long text. Instead, highlight the actual button on the screen (by dragging the mouse over it just as you would highlight a word in a text document).

  9. Press CTRL-C to copy it (or right click the selected button and choose COPY).

To paste it into your Hotmail signature:
  1. Log into your Hotmail account as normal. Click here to access the Hotmail login page.

  2. Click on Options (Upper right) and choose More Options.
  3. Under Writing emai, click Personal email signature.

  4. On the Personal email signature area, you will see a large box for the signature area. The top of the signature area should show a bunch of buttons (icons) to do various things. Make sure the drop down menu on the end is set to RICH TEXT format.

    Either way, once you get the signature box showing all those buttons, type whatever you want and then on a new line press CTRL-V or right click and choose PASTE to place the button where you want it.

You are done.   Write a new message, and the signature appears automatically.
