Default Create a Graphical VisualTour inventory button for your signature - Windows Live Mail

How To: Create a Graphical VisualTour inventory button for your signature in Windows Live Mail 2011.

Note: the following steps are for Windows Live Mail. The steps for Windows Mail (which comes with Windows Vista) are slightly different. You can find those steps here.

1. Log into your VisualTour account as normal. Click here to access the VisualTour login page.

2. Under Account Setup, click on My Profile. Write down your account number, you will need it later.

3. Highlight the source code below, then right click on it, left click on Copy.

<a href=''><img src='' border='0'></a>

4. Open Windows Notepad by clicking on your Start menu. In the white line (Start Search) area, type notepad.exe and press Enter.

5. Create your signature and paste the source code where you would like the inventory button to appear (Please see below example). To paste your source code, click Edit on the top menu bar of Notepad and choose Paste.

Note: You must use <br> at the end of each line to insert a "line break" or your signature will all be on one line.

Note: You will need to change the XXXXXX in the source code to the account number you wrote down at the beginning of this guide.

6. Click File on the top menu bar of Notepad and click on Save As. Navigate to where you want to save the signature file (Documents is recommended.) Name this file Signature.htm and click Save to save it to the selected location.

Creating the signature in Windows Mail.

1. Open Windows Live Mail.

2. Click on the drop-down list on the top left (to the left of the "home" button)

3. Select Options, Mail, then click on the Signatures tab

4. Click the New Button. Under Edit Signature, choose the radio button for File. Click the Browse button and navigate to the location of the saved signature file. Change the file type (bottom right corner) from Text Documents (*.txt) to HTML Files (*.htm, *.html). Highlight the signature.htm file and click Open.

*Optional: Select "add signatures to all outgoing messages". Otherwise, you will need to choose it manually when creating a new email (see step 6 below).

5. Click on Apply, click OK.

6. You can now create a new email as you normally would. If you have not setup your signature to appear on all outgoing messages, you will need to choose it by clicking on the "Insert" tab, then selecting it from the "Signatures" drop-down.
