Exclamation Software Validation Error...... When Starting The VisualTour Software

Firewalls or Spyware Detection programs sometimes block Internet access to VTS.exe and VTUPDATE.exe. These two files need the Internet to validate, register, and update your software. Notifications from your firewall or spyware detection will usually popup the first time VisualTour Studio is started or updated. By default these messages will protect your computer by blocking its internet access or removing the offending program(s). Please review these warning messages to "Allow" or "Permit" these programs.

The easiest way to temporarily fix the "Software Validation Error" is to disable your Internet firewall. Once disabled start the VisualTour software. Disabling allows the two main files access to the Internet and presto! Your software will start.

The best way to permanently fix the "Software Validation Error" is to allow VTS.exe and VTUPDATE.exe access to the Internet. Caution, please make sure you know what you are doing before making changes to your firewall settings!

Please follow the the directions below to permanently configure your firewall to allow Internet access to the VTS.exe and VTUDATE.exe.

Set VTS.exe and VTUPDATE.exe to Permit All

1. Open Norton Internet Security.
2. Left Click Personal Firewall.
3. Left Click Configure. (Lower right)
4. Left Click the Programs tab. (Tab at top of page)
5. See if VTS.exe and/or VTUPDATE.exe are listed.
(If not goto "Add Internet-enabled programs and firewall rules using the program interface" listed below.)
6. Left Click the Internet Access column to the left of the program that you want to modify.
7. Left Click Permit All and click the OK button.

Add Internet-enabled programs and firewall rules using the program interface.

1. Open Norton Internet Security.
2. Left Click Personal Firewall.
3. Left Click Configure. (Lower right)
4. Left Click the Programs tab. (Tab at top of page)
5. Left Click Add.
6. Browse to the location of the program that you want to add to Norton Internet Security. (VTStudio)
7. Select program to be given Internet access and click Open.
Note: If a program is added to the program list of Norton Internet Security that is already there, a notice will appear that you are trying to add a program that already exists.
8. Under "What do you want to do?" Select the Internet access permission that the program should have. (Permit All) and click OK

Some firewalls cannot be found, but VisualTour Customer Support will be able to assist you with finding and disabling the uncooperative firewall. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-873-0700 extension 1 for support. We are here from Monday to Friday, 9am-8pm Eastern Time.
